Sad About All the Businesses Going Under

I pass plenty of storefronts during my commute. Yesterday, I saw an owner in his store doing some work. I assumed he would reopen soon. Today, I saw a huge "For Rent" sign. Two other businesses near his shop recently closed, too. They were thriving. Now, it's common for me to see a couple of failed businesses on the same block. More will go under because the crowds are not returning. I feel bad for the business owners.

Anyone else seeing the same?

Yeah, I've noticed a few business in my area that were open pre-covid are now closed up with For Lease signs on them. It's very sad to see.

It's sad to see a good local restaurant close, and then be replaced with some garbage chain that serves inferior food.

We're still in Quarantine in my state down here so I haven't seen much of that yet as a lot of places are closed anyway. I will be interested to see what happens when restrictions start getting eased. I know I have changed a lot since all of this started and so I won't be going to a lot of stores and I have become used to making my own food so I won't be eating out or getting takeaway as much either. In fact I have only done so twice since February.

But Amazon grows 1000x folds. Which is nice. For Bezos.
