I've been guessing (or trying to guess) and enjoying that so much...time for me to give back and post some lyrics of my own!
Early 90s folk, great song by an underrated British singer/songwriter/guitarist:
Well, he reached for her hand and he slipped her the keys.
He said, "I've got no further use for these.
I see Angels on Aerials in leather and chrome
Swoopin' down from Heaven to carry me home."
I won't give additional lyrics, but will say this song is about a guy named James, a woman named Red Molly, and the title of the song is a motorcycle, I believe.
Going to channel my "inner hownos" here (and his short clues! 😃) with these next few clues...proper names, might be more than one song that mentions them, but here goes:
70s rock/folk/country...singer passed away a few years ago:
This is a humorous song with some great guitar playing on it. Radio stations used to play it on the radio from time to time, but I don't think so anymore. Here are some additional lyrics:
Mario Andretti woulda sure been proud
Of the way I was movin' when I passed that crowd
Comin' out the door and headin' toward me in a trot.
Closing this one out also...I used to hear this song growing up on my local rock station from time to time: "(The Ballad Of The) Uneasy Rider" by The Charlie Daniels Band.
I think the artist (solo, male) was a "one-hit wonder" here in the U.S. Here are some additional lyrics:
"She grew up with the children of the stars
In the Hollywood hills and the boulevards.
Her parents threw big parties
Everyone was there.
They hung out with folks like Dennis Hopper and Bob Seger and Sonny and Cher."
