What's the deal with the "In Theaters" section?

Are those movies actually playing somewhere? I know covid has really thrown a wrench in the whole operation, and what's showing up there seems really random.

Movie theatres are open in my area, but they're only playing old films at the moment.

They're playing the Jurassic Park, Star Wars, and Harry Potter films along with other classics like Back to the Future.

reply

Any of those would be fun to see on the big screen again

Just curious, is the ticket priced reduced? A theater in my area used to do this with oldies

reply

Tickets are $5 a piece according to the website which sounds fair.

I haven't been myself, but I'd love to be able to see Empire Strikes Back in a theatre considering I wasn't alive then lol.

reply

5 bucks is great
Have fun!

reply

That's what they are here too.

I am waiting for Casablanca to pop up.

I don't think they're playing anywhere. I noticed Rotten Tomatoes removed it from their website for a while, then it came back.

I just checked the big theatre by my place and they are playing Target Number One, Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, Sing, Sonic The Hedgehog, Mission Impossible Fallout, Wonder Woman, Jurassic Park, Unhinged, and Purple Rain. Some of them are $5.00. Some of them are regular price.
