I was just watching this on the news. I really don't have an opinion right now - it's not necessarily a good sign - only time will tell.

Maybe not...
Yankees in lockdown as coronavirus threatens more games

I wish I cared more. Used to love ML baseball, followed the Tigers closest. But it seems sooo slowww now, and players get ginormous amounts of $$ for such a simple game, and so many people are getting priced out of going to regular games.
I'm still interested in baseball, but at only a small fraction of when I was younger. The NHL is more my game these days.
Serious question, does squatting give you Covid19?
shareNot by itself, but MLB players spit and spray liquid droplets all over. It's part of their ritual. I don't know if catchers will have to wear a face shield. If they do have a season, we should track if catchers get it more and whether MLB players get it more than players of other major sports leagues because of the spraying.
shareI have always been sick of seeing players of all sports spitting all the time, way prior to this pandemic.
Like it's some sort of jocko ritual. Gotta spit, I'm a man. Effing stupid.
It's a disgusting habit, second only to 'the snot rocket' where some pig presses one nostril closed and blasts out the other all over the sidewalk...I see men AND women doing this stuff
We're trying to live in a SOCIETY!
It's not looking good.
😎
Florida .,.
shareHard to say. How determined are the owners to keep going? How much do they care about the criticism they are going to get? It's unlikely that any of them will get life threateningly sick, but some in the media are already questioning that they keep playing.
If they do decide to cancel the season, I have to ask what they were thinking even trying. This was bound to happen at some point. They had to know that.
Why is sports, specifically baseball at the moment, different from any other job? Every day people go to work and risk being infected. Baseball is a low contact sport and I do hope they have a way to isolate positive cases and keep the game going.
shareThank you for saying what needed to be said!
sharethey should have played a bubble system.
shareGood question. I don't think baseball players would be anymore at risk than football or basketball players. I'd be willing to bet every single NFL game on the schedule will be played in the fall. MLB should have started in May.
