Movies for the Season?

What movie do you feel the need to watch during the summer months?
It can be evocative of the hot days or simply a family tradition you enjoy?

The Flamingo Kid (84) is one of my favorite summer time movies, with a fun cast and a sweet story
I love the kid's relationship with his tough as nails pop

Summer School (1987) was on this morning, I watched it before I left for my run/walk...shout out to Carl Reiner (rip), directed the flick and a great cameo at the beginning....

As much trouble as I caused in school, never had the honor of attending summer school, thankfully....I saved my trouble for the important times of the regular school year, like 2nd period French, after lunch Science class, and if I was lucky I had 6th period P.E.....oh yeah, good times!

Dazed And Confused (93)

oh yeah...not that they needed it in Texas in the 70s with its lax selling to minors, and it was 18 as the age to buy, but we all had a Wooderson to score us some beer...

Do The Right Thing

Ooh, good example, that movie just felt hot and sweaty
One of Spike's best

I would add Summer Of Sam since we're on Spike

Do The Right Thing was cool, more a a message movie (what movies dealing with the hood arent with Spike)...Summer of Sam, IMHO, doesnt get enough credit, some solid performances there...

He Got Game, just fun and funny in spots...

Kikujiro. A Japanese drama/comedy about a wannabe gangster who gets stuck taking a young boy to try to find the mother who abandoned him, and tries to give him a summer to remember as they travel across Japan.

That sounds very interesting and worth looking out for, thanks
