If moviechat no longer existed...

...how long do you think you'd last before you needed your fix?

reply

Remember all those scenes in the drug movies where a character tried to kick?

Yeah, like that and within hours

reply

Too much moviechat turns my arm into Jared Leto's in Requiem for a Dream.

reply

Oof! That movie will keep your ass from trying heroin foreveršŸ˜³

reply

I think I could survive.

Like the real Mac and cheese (fixed up with pieces of fried Polska and Tapatio hot sauce) I need MC every now and then but not all the time, though you wouldnā€™t be able to tell by my recent posting history, because yes, Iā€™m here a lot lately chattinā€™ it up with my fine brothers and sisters in the struggle...during normal times and circumstances Iā€™d be okay, Iā€™d too busy to notice the impact of its absence....but during this lockdown, nothing better than posting on uncle shogieā€™s jukebox thread ā€˜what are you listening toā€™ and wondering what my punk goddess gal-pal Miss froggyandtoadie has queued up on her playlist.....Iā€™m sure as hell glad this place exists now, itā€™s fun and a great diversion to the happenings of the world at this very trying moment....

I say, Get Some Bey-beh!

Good times!

So many times when I finish watching a movie, I come here to see if people had the same views of it that I had. All the alternative sites out there really don't interest me so I'd have nowhere to go.

reply

I would be saddened, but ultimately Iā€™d be fine.

reply

Agreed. I'd hope similar site would pop up, like this did for IMDb

reply

I would not count on that. Must other entertainment chat sites are dominated by trolls and infected by politics.

reply

I did extensive research on alternatives when IMDb went down, this was far and away the best one. A lot of people from those sites defect and come here. It would be hard to find something that compares.

Iā€™d have to rely on my friends for discussions. Theyā€™re funny as hell but... mc is my escape from reality. I mean, people have been arguing about social injustices and using Star Wars as an example! I think they might be serious about it too. Very strange and really interesting to me.

reply

I have friends who are movie lovers, but unfortunately that doesn't mean they're smart movie watchers.

reply

Talking movies with my friends? Forget about it. I hang with dudes and theyā€™re constantly quoting nacho libre, what about bob, anchorman... all those movies you boys love to quote. I never know what theyā€™re talking about, but I enjoy the bromance that occurs when one guy quotes a movie and the other guy is astonished. ā€œBro you just quoted Stepbrothers, thatā€™s awesome! Youā€™re the coolest.ā€ šŸ™„ Iā€™m no movie critic, I enjoy some of those flicks, but I watch weird shit. Most people either havenā€™t seen the movies I love, or they donā€™t like them.
But my boys do know how to throw down like thereā€™s no tomorrow and I love them for it.

What would you consider a smart movie watcher?
