Top 5 best album covers.

I can't stand great albums with ugly cover art. So let's throw some appreciation to great albums with great cover art.

I considered putting Aqualung in my top 5. Normally I'm not a fan of the colour brown, but it's a great painted cover.

reply

I hope you won't hate me, samoanjoes, but the first time I bought that album, I bought the 8-track tape.
Hey, such was life in 1971 when I was in college.

No worries though, for I then bought the actual vinyl album after I graduated, made some money and bought a high-end stereo.

Btw, I edited the Aqualung and London Calling addys because I like how discogs displays the covers once you click "more images."

reply

I've never seen the inside jacket/book for Aqualung. The one where he's sittindown could be a cool cover too.

reply

That was actually the back of the album cover.

God, how I loved album cover art!

Years ago I listened to 4 or 5 albums from The Grateful Dead and I just couldn't get into them.

reply

I seem to be the only fan amongst the regular posters here. I consider myself the resident Deadhead 😃

reply

Abby Road was fun at the time. All those clues.

reply

Sgt. Pepper had some crazy clues too.

reply

The BEST of all the clues is a remarkable coincidence. Place a pocket mirror across the middle of the drum:

Who die? The diamond shaped arrow points to Paul.

The world isn't ready for this.

Pink Floyd and The Beatles are polar choices so far.

reply

You could do a top five from Pink Floyd album covers alone. 'Animals' was another great one.
