Underneath the synopsis it states similar films. The Shawshank redemption is in no way similar to bttf lol. Who writes these things? I can't think of a common actor between them either π€π

shareIMDB used to have Related Movies list on a movie's main page which was generated from user ratings. It was movies which people rated similarly ("People who liked this also liked..."). My guess is this site's info comes from the IMDB API which must still include the related movies list.
I don't know if it's still there, but one time IMDb recommended me "Magnolia" on the "American Werewolf in London" page.
