Anyone remember the game Strider on Sega Genesis?

Great game, love the atmosphere, futuristic setting and music. I recently downloaded a Genesis emulator on my desktop and playing it gives me deep nostalgia for the early ‘90s.

My cousin remember it he say he liked the futuristic sound of the sword, and it had the arcade machine he use to play in the old circus which he said was good. Overall he said it was a game he remember well.

Excellent game. The music and its dramatic use were fantastic. It was a game worth finishing.
When I see a certain shade of blue in lighting, the music comes back to me.

reply

Yeah for sure, I guess it was an arcade port. Wonder if the music was the same. How popular was it?

reply

No, I was a Nintendo boi.

The only Sega game I reaaaally wanted to play was Streets of Rage 2. Also Mortal Kombat was way better on Sega.

reply

Yeah, the first MK was definitely better on the Genesis. MKII was better on the SNES, though.

reply

Same. I wasn’t going to cut extra lawns just to play sonic.

My favourite old school game was Prince of Persia. Used to play it on dos, on the first computer we had.

PoP was great but I liked the futuristic sequel better (don't recall the name).
I was more Genesis than NES. Loved Star Control and near the end of things, Sega Channel.

reply

Think it was just called PoP 2 . I remember it being harder than the first one. I never finished the second game.

Ijust leaned on a network of old friends and one finally remembered the game. It was called Out of this World.

Yes, OOTW is an amazing game. Another one in this style is called Flashback.

OOTW also has a sequel called Heart of Darkness.

I was about to answer your other post that OOTW might be the game you were thinking of!

I just got Flashback heads up in a text and was going to edit and add. Yeah, I think I liked Flashback more. Satisfying mix of problem solving and action.

I played the NES version of Strider. Great game, very tough.
