Any gun enthusiast here? I have a noob question.
Can you put 223 Remington ammo in a mag thats stamped 5.56 x 45? Or do I have to buy another mag for my bushmaster AR15 thats stamped 223 rem? Sorry if this is really noob question.

shareI did a fast Google and it seems like you can put a .223 round in a 5.56, but not the other way around. HOWEVER I'm not an expert and I'm not looking at your weapon either way, so refer to the manual and FAQs/help contacts from Bushmaster before you do anything.

Thanks dude
share.223 and 5.56 are exactly the same size. So loading .223 into a 5.56 magazine is no problem.
HOWEVER -.and this is important!
NEVER fire a NATO 5.56 round from a weapon that isn't specifically chambered for it.
5.56 is considerably more powerful than .223 and can cause SERIOUS damage to the firearm AND you!!
So be careful, okay?
This sounds right. Ok i feel better now. I spent a little mire than i should of on 2 boxes of ammo because there is a shortage. Thanks for info.
