Tuna Fish & Mustard

Someone accidentally placed a little on my tuna sandwich at a restaurant. It gave my sandwich that extra kick and was surprisingly good. I never heard of it before but after a google, it's known.

Do you have any "disgusting" food combos which actually taste good?

reply

I can kind of see tuna and mustard, especially if it's the kind with French tarragon, not that French's stuff.

Occasionally I like cottage cheese with soy sauce drizzled on top. Sounds like an unlikely pair but is fairly good.

My mom fixed peanut butter sandwiches with sweet pickles on them when I carried my lunch in grade school. I loved them then, but not sure if I would now. Need to try one again to see what I think.

reply

I like pickles and peanut butter.

reply

Curiosity is getting to me on this one.

reply

My mom made sandwiches on toast that consisted of peanut butter, tuna, cheese, pickles, and chips. Everyone says it sounds gross, but I love it!

reply

I think mustard is disgusting, so I'll take your word for it.

I like pickles and cottage cheese on toast.

reply

I don't like cottage cheese. I'll substitute swiss.

reply

Yeah, but then it's not such a weird combination. Hahaha! 😊

reply

True. LOL!

Cottage cheese looks too bizarre for me to try to eat. I can't go near it.

reply

I have a love/hate relationship with it. I think it's kind of gross, but also yummy. I can't explain it.

reply

I can't get pass its ugliness to try it. Same with brussels sprouts, shrimp and lobsters.

reply

i don't eat tuna regularly anymore, but i used to mix tuna & honey mustard all the time when i did. that's a natural match to me.

Jalapenos on mac & cheese sounds good.

I always use mustard when making Tuna Fish sandwiches. Miracle Whip, Mustard, diced pickles and a little bit of the pickle juice. Preferably Vlasic Zesty Dill.

Ever just put butter in saltine crackers?

reply

Butter on saltines? Nope.

But, yes to peanut butter on saltines. I used to make 10 high stacks when I was a kid.

reply

It’s good!

I haven’t don’t that but I have made buttered toast, peanut butter sandwiches.

Buttered toast = delicious
Peanut butter on toast = delicious

PB + butter on toast? I see a buttery grilled PB and jelly sandwich which looks good.

If you like'd that try mixing mustard and mayo together and using that on turkey or ham sandwich.

reply

That reminds me of McDonald's special sauce or tartar sauce. I'm a vegetarian so swiss cheese sandwiches will have to do for me.

reply

Closer to McD sauce would be my mayo and ketchup mixed together on my hamburgers.

reply

Mixing condiments yourself? There's got to be a better way!

When I was in college I grossed a few people out by opening my burger and using my finger to mix the Ketchup and Mayo..

reply

I know this is a joke but I actually did see a mix of mayo and mustard in the grocery store a few times..Can't remember what they called it though.

reply

Last year Heinz rolled out "Mayomust" or something to that effect.

reply

Funny ad. I thought it would make a great product so I googled. Heinz created it for real!
