Quibi: a new streaming service for people with short attention spans to have even shorter attention spans.

You guys have probably heard about the new streaming service Quibi which debuted today. "Quibi" is short for "quick bites" where they release television shows where episodes are less than 10 minutes long. You know, because people can no longer sit through shows that are 20-40 minutes long so they decided to appeal to this demographic. They've even said that their target audience is young people. I've had sneezes that have lasted longer than 10 minutes. It's also specifically designed for mobile devices.

I also just found out that it's $5 a month for ads and $8 for ad free. No way am I subscribing to this.

To be honest, I have no idea how long the ads are. I didn't even consider that even a 30 second ad is already 1/20 of what you're about to watch. Assuming there is only one ad beforehand.

Has anyone tried this yet?

reply

I've read some comments online. They're saying it has some pretty decent shows but they don't see this service lasting long term.

reply

Not for me. I don't even like short stories or magazine articles.

reply

Not for me either. Even from a creator's perspective, I don't see how they would be okay with their work being solely for phones. Why would they want their work to be viewed by someone on the subway?

reply

I started reading this post but then spotted something shiny...Sorry bro

reply

Was it Joe Pesci's shiny tooth from Home Alone?

reply

How do you know so much stuff?!?

reply

Thinking about changing my name to SamoanKnows.

reply

Do it🍺🍺

reply

Could you edit your post and shorten it please.

reply

Quibi = bad

reply

Shorter?

reply

Well it's gonna cost you $5 but $8 for the ad free shortening.

reply

No 30 day free trial?

reply

The only trial there's going to be is the one where I see you in court for not paying up.

reply

Guilty!

reply
