a song from your teens that drove your parents nuts
Psycho Killer by The Talking Heads from 1977. My brother and I would put this on blast.

I only got complaints about the volume level.

Fuck you I won’t do what ya tell me.
some teenage rebellion right there.
shareMy Dad couldn't stand the voice of Kelly Jones from Stereophonics.
"He's doing it on purpose" (the raspiness, I guess), he always complained. :D
He also made fun of Blink-182 because their songs sound like nursery rhymes (which is true), but he couldn't understand the lyrics, so it's understandable.
We also have some shared favorites, like Dire Straits, U2, Police, Pink Floyd etc. :)
For me, it was the other way around. You see, I mostly listen to music from the 60's, 70's, and 80's; being an old soul (I was born in the 90s). My dad thoroughly enjoys hearing Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" that you could not avoid listening to around 2010. While it didn't make my eardrums bleed and I eventually mellowed to the song (help, I've been brainwashed!), I was real tired and annoyed by it at first. I'm sure most people can relate.
