I have seen 10 of his films and they were all good-great. If you haven't seen any of his films, you really need to. He is one of the best filmmakers working today. My ratings and rankings:

What didn't you like about The Skin I Live In and Bad Education?

In The Bad Education, Almodovar goes political, and I'm sick of political movies.

The Skin I Live seemed to me... I don't know, ridiculous. It was very clear the lead was a real female, I didn't believe her to be a male operated for a moment. Besides that, the character played by Antonio Banderas had no depth. In general, the characters made no sense. The movie didn't work as a drama, but it didn't work as a comedy neither. To compare, I find the trans character in All About My Mother both more credible and more funny.

EDIT I forgot to include High Heels (1991) and The Flower of My Secret in the 'Great' group.

tie me up is the only one i'm a bit luke-warm on. the others are all good to terrific.
