There have been stats that show a low number of women attending film school. I think we should be concerned about the lack of female movie composers. Many women compose their own music, but for some reason there aren't many that are in film. There's one woman nominated this year, but it's still rare.

shareYeah a while ago. I wish they delved further into the general intest of filmmaking. I would have liked to hear more from the perspective of the women who didn't get to make a movie to hear that struggle.

I didn't get to make movies because I'm not strong enough to jump all the hurdles. I can barely survive here in gen pop. I'm easing up on mc.

Of course. I just wish they showcased it more in the film. It was mostly female directors who have made it. It could have been an interesting perspective to see women still aching to make a film of their own.
Maybe they can do a sequel on female composers. There are so few of them. I hope the woman who did the score for Joker wins because it was the only memorable score this year.

It shouldn't come down to gender or race etc quotas.
I question the lack of female composers. Female solo artists compose music of their own all the time but it's never shown in the amount of women film composers. And I'm not just talking about Oscars.

They can't have it both ways, one second they say gender doesn't matter and another second they start wanting privilege for gender.
If a woman makes a great film than that's awesome. But they shouldn't be called great films just because they are made by women.
