I think I saw Malcolm X in the theater and it didn't sink in, so I might agree there, but the one movie I thought was the biggest misfire was Benjamin Button. Seemed more like a rather obvious concept someone was bound to explore (the way Memento is told in reverse fashion) but it didn't quite speak to me in the way it was intended to. Maybe I'll watch it again someday, but I don't think it's as interesting as the plot suggests.
But most of the others I strongly disagree with. Fortunately, many of my favorite films I was able to see in an actual theater so maybe watching Brazil on the small screen doesn't have the same impact as going into it "blind" (as I did) and it was absolutely thrilling. Might get confusing in places, but still a great experience.
