it rarely works but there are exceptions like:

Bates Motel - succeeded in not only rebooting one of the most iconic and revered films of all time but also in creating a modern day prequel that was both respectful to the source material and a solid, engaging drama in its own right.

Fargo - Genius concept of adapting the tone and themes of the film while morphing the characters into a brand new array of dangerous oddballs and unlikely heroes. The Coen boys involvement is an undeniable advantage to the show. Film quality television.

MASH was the big one growing up for me in the 70s/early 80s.

I thought MASH would be mentioned. I haven’t seen the film and I never liked the show. I know, that’s a lonely island for me.

Definitely the most popular though hands down.

The odd thing about the film is it's seperated in ways that resembles Tv show episodes.

They were all a bit cheap looking but Freddy's Nightmares, Highlander and Timecop were semi decent.

What We Do In The Shadows

I Love the movie and I love the tv show. It's only one season so far but it was great.

I didn’t even know there was a show! I’ll definitely be checking that out. Loved the film too.

Have you seen Wellington Paranormal? I guess that’s a film spin-off of sorts. It’s hilarious.

I haven't seen Wellington Paranormal but I really want to. It's not available to stream anywhere where I live so I'm out of luck for now.

I absolutely love what we do in the shadows. I haven’t seen any of the show yet. I get some of season 1 ondemand but it starts at episode 5. Should I wait until I can watch all of them in order?
Really glad to hear you enjoyed it. I thought it would be an awesome movie to turn into a series.

I'd recommend watching it in order from episode 1 so you get to know the characters and their relations. Strange to add the episodes like that.

They captured the spirit of the movie perfectly and also added some new fun stuff, it's a really good show. I hope you get to see it soon.

I can only ass Buffy, MASH.

Bates Motel and Fargo are amazing indeed
