MAKEUP ARTISTS/HAIRDRESSERS DURING THE 1930S/40S/50S

Has anyone else but me ever wondered what it must have been like to be a hairdresser or makeup artist during the 'glory days' of Hollywood?

I mean, just imagine going into work every morning knowing you'd be doing Garbo/Harlow/Crawford,and other big stars hair or makeup?????? GOOD GRIEF...they surely were thrilled to have those 'jobs'......or did they perhaps become a little jaded as time went on?

thoughts, please!??! AND THE SAME goes for the wardrobe people....helping Dietrich or Mae West or any number of big stars getting into their costumes for the days' filming!!!

I'm sure they got a little jaded over time as the novelty wore off, but it still has to be gratifying seeing your work on the big screen.
