Dirty Dancing has a great soundtrack

I’ve been revisiting some of the doo-wop and it’s refreshing.

They didn’t include will you still love me on the original soundtrack?

reply

it was included in the 20th anniversary edition.

reply

Yes, it's a fine soundtrack

reply

Yeah, it's a good one. I would probably be inclined to skip the Swayze track though!

reply

That was a pretty big hit back in the day, I think.

reply

I remember having a huge crush on my older sister's friend around this time and the Swayze song was the one I'd listen to and longingly thing of her. I'm not proud.

reply

Swayze track wasn’t as bad as time off my life

reply

🎶She's like the wind, through my dreams...
She rides the night next to me-eeee🎵

Yeah, that was a bad song:/
Much love for Swayze but damn that song was awful

reply

Yeah it was a big hit back in the day and I remember my older sister used to have a mega crush on Swayze and she basically tortured me with that on repeat, not to mention having Dirty Dancing sleepovers with her friends.... urgh.... I know that film better than I will ever admit...

You're right though MovieBuff, Time of My Life is just as grating, but try not humming along if it's on the radio. Impossible.

reply

I caught my best buddy making out with my favorite cousin Mary to this tune...It was a scandal I tells 'ya, the talk of kiddy town for days!

reply

I don't think it's that bad, but it didn't deserve "big hit" status. It was just okay.

reply

I'm firmly in the Swayze camp, I loved that guy and he really did die too young...I thought his music was fairly lousy though and I'm still pissed at my pal Chris for making out with my favorite cousin Mary to this tune LOL!

I'm possibly too Irish for my own good!

reply

We did that at my dance recital when I was 13.

reply

Well, the soundtrack is certainly better than the movie. I love Hungry Eyes.

reply

Is it a $hitty movie? I haven’t seen it in years

reply

It's not my kind of movie, that's for sure.

reply

I thought you liked music movies?

reply

Actually, there are probably more musicals I like than "music movies". That said, it's far from being my favourite genre. With "not my kind", I mean stupid, cliché romance dramas.

reply

Maybe one has to be a certain age to like it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reply

It was a great movie also. I've seen it several times.

reply

Great like compared to what?

reply

footloose
