That really does sound familiar, it must be on a movie soundtrack or two. It’s pretty sounding but unfortunately I don’t understand the lyrics.
shareIt's a very well-known and popular song in Japan, so although I haven't seen any specific examples of it, I wouldn't be surprised if it made it onto some movie soundtracks. Quentin Tarantino has taken a few Japanese songs from the 1970s and thereabouts and used them in some of his movies, but I'm not sure if this is one of them (btw this song was first performed in 1977).
I'm generally not very good at translating (I guess because I'm a very literal-minded person, and translation requires some mental flexibility because sentences in different languages rarely correspond to each other exactly). But I'll try to translate this one. It won't be as natural or poetic as it is in Japanese, but hopefully it doesn't turn out too clunky.
Btw, Tsugaru Strait is in the north of Japan, between the main island of Honshu and the big northern island of Hokkaido.
"Since I stepped off the night train from Ueno
Aomori Station is covered in snow
In the crowds of people returning north, everyone is quiet
The roar of the sea is all I can hear
I, too, board the ferry alone
Gazing at the seagulls that looked like they were freezing, I cried
Aaaa, Tsugaru Strait winter scenery
Look, there is Cape Tappi, the tip of the north
Someone I don’t know points their finger
Although I tried wiping the window glass fogged by my breath
All I could see was mist in the distance
Goodbye my dear, I’m going back
The sound of the wind shakes my chest and I can only cry
Aaaa, Tsugaru Strait winter scenery
Goodbye my dear, I’m going back
The sound of the wind shakes my chest and I can only cry
Aaaa, Tsugaru Strait winter scenery”

I don't listen to enough jazz anymore.
shareFirst time I heard this version of the song, I had no idea the well-known Nazareth song was actually a cover of an old country number. This is Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris singing "Love Hurts."

No words, one of THE all time greatest EVER songs, a catchy 1980s Aussie rock classic! From their album "Starfish" (1988). Oh yeah. :) 10/10 - what else.
Cool song!
The video is really cool too, the close up of the instruments was nice
Yeah, I'm a big fan of The Church too and own most of their albums, heard this one - Under the Milkyway -

Another 10/10 classic and one of their most famous hits. :)
