Abre los ojos was released in 1997, Vanilla Sky in 2001. What I wrote sounds like Abre los ojos was the remake. I wasn't very clear.

Really liked Lola as I did many of the films recommended.

I wouldn't just recommend Salo to anyone. It's one of the movies I would think twice before watching it with my mum and dad.
