Why can’t I stop watching Goodfellas??

I have a pretty solid home theater setup, projector, 135” screen and surround and I treat my movie days/nights as very special events and I try to treat myself to something different every time but I keep coming back to Goodfellas. There is something addicting and extremely rewatchable about it. Anyone else? What is it? Very tightly edited, excellent music choices, top notch acting and some very intense sequences.

Not really.

I totally agree - and the same can be said of "Casino".

It's a perfect movie
10/10

Great story, amazing acting, the soundtrack is classic and for some reason crime stories well told are very entertaining

My former roommate Ed loved Godfather as well, and several others like it.

Now, I really liked The Runaways, and showed it to him. It wasn't completely up his alley, but he got addicted to it, and played it every night for two weeks, actually watching it through over half of those times (he used the TV as a nightlight and background noise too).

You might want to check out The Runaways and see if it has the same effect on you. It's very enjoyable and dynamic, highly recommended. Michael Shannon gets to be an excellent sleazy agent/manager (I won't quote the full "jack fucking pot" line here, don't want to spoil it), Dakota Fanning actually sings the Runaways songs, and Kristen Stewart has possibly her last normal role as Joan Jett before the darkness of Twilight fully enveloped her (Runaways came out in 2010, 2 years after Twilight and may have been shot before it because she looks younger... It's likely the movie finally got a release due to Twilight and Kristen's popularity... EDIT -- FYI, I checked, and this is not the case. It was made after Twilight).

It even has Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development!

It's one classic, quotable scene after another.
My favorite movie. I have a hard time turning it off too.
