Why does every moderator pretend to be impartial?
Even Google insists they aren't biased against conservatives. Are you joking? Every time an internal memo is leaked, they just keep insisting even louder. Gab's new browser extension called Dissenter was talked about a lot here. If you don't know what it is, it's a pseudo comment section for every website on the internet. Google banned it from their app store. Even Firefox banned it. What are they so afraid of? Every time there's a new outlet for freedom, conservatives flock to it. Not liberals. Doesn't that tell you something? That corporate censorship has a very focused agenda? Who are we kidding? Just look at the explicit terms of service here. No hate speech. Nothing about whether something is true or not. New York Times said Iraq had WMDs. Infowars said Iraq didn't have WMDs. That's the biggest hoax of our time. Guess who is welcome in polite society. Did you know Robert Muller was one of the people behind it? Apparently it's love-speech if you support killing the right people. That's what moderators don't get. Moderators, from hall monitors on up, tend to not be very thoughtful people. Police actually have to fail IQ tests in some jurisdictions, because dumb people are better at following orders. The system works.
For the rest of us, we need to oppose moderators just on principle, on the fact that moderation is inherently biased, against free speech. Which side has something to hide? Hint: It's the side that is automatically wrong. I don't think conservatives can ever win by pressing the report button as much as liberals do. We just don't control any of the levers of power. Big business, media, academia... They'll always have platforms. We have to hold on to what we have left. But we're a scrappy bunch. Maybe we have to resist our instinct to be strong and silent. Let your friends know you're being censored. Let them know when one of your favorite authors gets deplatformed. Most liberals are not the scheming two-faces you see on political forums. They're just regular people who want to be seen as moral and not "racist". They don't even realize all this censorship is going on. Ask them how Youtube makes more money by having less content if they try to say anything about "private companies" and "free speech is only for the government". A lot of liberals are distrustful of big corporations deep down, if we can bring that out again. Moderators have repressed it. Everyone is worried about toothless hicks in white sheets and Russian script kiddies. Not trillion dollar corporations.
