Anyone else have trouble getting into Christopher Nolan’s films?

I like his movies
The two you mentioned, the Batman movies and Insomnia were all really entertaining imo

I had trouble with Inception, I need to rewatch it

I've found that they play better on a second viewing. Important aspects are played so small sometimes that they dont take hold strongly enough the first time around.

Also, I think he edits in an odd way at times.

I feel the same way about a lot of Michael Mann movies. They wear better after time.

I loved The Prestige, and liked Memento. Those are the only two of his I've seen.

I love Nolan but I could understand people that don't like his films. The editing in his films is jarring.

The Prestige was fantastic.

i've honestly enjoyed every one of his films, & don't think he's made a bad one. i think dark knight returns & interstellar are a bit over-stuffed, have a little too much going on perhaps, but if the worst you can say about a film is that it's too ambitious & taking too much on, that's really not so bad.

whether you like him or not, i think he ought to be applauded & praised for being one of the few, perhaps only, modern directors who constantly makes big budget, large scale films that are very popular, make their budget back & are widely seen, and also are genuinely daring & challenging & ambitious.

I didn't like Interstellar. Other than that, I've enjoyed all of his movies.

I really like most of his movies. Wasn't a fan of The Dark Knights Rises and Dunkirk.
