organ meat

I know this sounds gross, but my grandmother used to cook kidney saute, fried liver, and lamb's tongue. I don't think these organ meats are even sold these days.

Did you ever eat organ meat or any other weird meat?

reply

They are. Whole Foods sells these. Liver used to be $3/pound. Now it's over $9. What does that tell you?

reply

Steak and kidney pie is delicious. So is liver pate

reply

Cow tongue is a delicacy and it's really not bad.

My name is Jimmy and I am 6 and three quarters years old. I like immigration because I can get the tripa y lengua tacos. Please tell Trump to let them stay.

reply

Cow tongue tacos sure are yummy aren't they?

I can get calf, beef, and chicken livers at the grocery here. Also sometimes beef heart and kidneys, and chicken hearts and gizzards. Occasionally tripe.

I don't eat it, it's for my dog. I did make chopped chicken liver a couple of times for myself. I like it, and there aren't any real delis here. But it's a lot of work, so I doubt I'll be making it again. Will never buy tripe again for my pooch. Disgusting to cut up and handle 😷

I ate liverwurst for many years without realizing that it's made from liver. (I know, I'm slow on the uptake.)
