Insurance companies

So I've been with this insurance company for my home and contents since 2004. I call to cancel as I've decided they're way too expensive.

Every year it's just rolled over without me having to contact them so I figure I'd like an email confirmation of the cancellation so it doesn't just roll over again. Guess what? They can't oblige and I just have to rely on a verbal confirmation.

What's the bet it rolls over, I call them and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Fuckers!

That's very weird. Sending confirmation cancellations is pretty standard. They wouldn't even give you a cancellation number for your records?

It would be worth your while to call them back, insist on speaking with a supervisor and getting a cancellation number, if not email or regular mailed notification.

I'm not sure he wants it cancelling *yet* though , but they should still be able to take that on board.

Mine actually asked last time wether to auto renew or not , so presumably i can ring them any time and change that binary

Somesunny said they gave a verbal confirmation of the cancellation, so I'm assuming it was cancelled, for whenever it rolls over. Still, yes, either way, they should be able to do that. No one relies on verbal confirmations these days! What, do they think this is 1980?

Your company sounds much easier to work with.

I've sent an email to their feedback address asking for written confirmation. I'll see what happens

Good. I hope you get it. There's no valid reason you shouldn't.
