What do you prefer in a tv show or movie

Okay this is an odd question but bare with me.

In a movie or tv show what do would you rather watch? Say you have tv show/movie A, this tv show/movie is nothing special but it is a 6-7/10 the entire way through. So nothing really memorable but nothing bad either. Overall just decent. Then you have tv show/movie B that at it's best moments goes from 9-10 rating but at it's worst hits the 3-4/10 range. So it is either really great or really bad. The greatness leaves a major impact that you remember, however the bad moments are rather awful.

Which do you prefer? Obviously no right or wrong answer. Myself I prefer show B. Yeah you deal with more bad stuff but when it gets good you truly remember it.

Probably the latter. I'd rather really good memorable bits

I'm shocked people choose A. I would rather remember the experience rather than just being like meh the entire way through. I don't ever usually care to revisit those kinds of films nor do I usually remember them.

Hard to say. Cause both choices are pretty bad. A. Mediocre movies vs B. Disappointing movies. I guess for me it depends on the genre.

Some genres, like action movies, martial arts, raunchy comedies, and other non "high art" genres, I think it's okay to be in the B choice. As long as there were some really good memorable bits it would be fine. Case in point: RED, Kill Bill, Fast and Furious films, various Van Damme movies, etc.

Mediocre movies, on the other hand, might work for like documentaries, tv dramas, telenovelas, oscar baits, and movies intended for Netflix n Chill so you'll not too invested in the movie itself so you would rather "chill," but not so bad of a movie it ruins your mood.

I'd prefer a tv series with some great hits and the odd dud to a mediocre film or show.
Some of my favourite series had the odd poor episode. Buffy, The Twilight Zone, and Farscape all come to mind.
