Empire magazine - Mission Impossible: Fallout

Hello!

In the latest issue of Empire magazine there is an interview with Tom Cruise and Christoffer McQuarrie and it says over and over again that Fallout is McQuarries third Mission Impossible movie. Why does it say that? I thought it was his second? Anyone has any idea?

I heard that in a different interview. The only information I was able to scrounge up is that he might have done some uncredited script work on Ghost Protocol.
