I notice a recent surge in anti-Chinese sentiment coming from Europe

The way I see it, post WW2, America has always been Europe's security blanket against Russia. Now that America has turned into an isolationistic policy, China has become a threat since China and Russia are allies.

reply

Have they really? It’s been so much anti-migrant coverage I hadn’t heard of this.

reply

I am Chinese and there have been a lot in the last 2 years, before there was nothing. Just how there was no islamaphobia before 9/11 in America. Human behavior is so predictable.

reply

You're obviously lying. You can't claim to be against hate speech or whatever when in the same sentence you are so eager to badmouth entire host nations. You are just victimhood jockeying.

reply

Where in Europe??

reply

Sweden, uk, italy

reply

First I've heard of it here in the U.K. The Chinese community are always friendly. It's a shame if they're being targeted because of politics.

reply

You stopped him in his tracks

reply

Haven't noticed it in Sweden, but then again I'm not Chinese....

reply

what sort of things are you seeing/experiencing, if you could give some examples.

reply

Just general hostility, like the recent d&g thing, there was an incident on a train in the UK. I think humans are prejudiced by nature so I am not surprised.

reply

I'm from Europe and I haven't noticed a darn thing over here. People always seem to have been fond of the Chinese community (especially compared to other communities) although it appears new immigrants from China are bringing along some crime.

As for China, the superpower, now that's a different issue.

reply

No one here in Canada links Chinese immigrants with the stupid Chinese government. Most of them come here to get far away from the Chinese government.

reply

oh please all governments are bs

reply

Some are worse than others.

reply

You do? Hmmm. I haven't noticed that.
