Aerosmith's "Toys In The Attic" or "Rocks"?

Which of these two albums do you like the best?

"Toys In the Attic"
The band's fun side is displayed very well here, shifting from more serious notes of contemplation to merry reflections featured in their songs.

Agreed

I was worried my memory had gone fuzzy. Been a while since last listening to it. (^_~)

Sweet emotion and walk this way

Steven Tyler hamming it up in Walk This Way only adds to the festive mood. I'm sure both Aerosmith and Run D.M.C had just as much fun behind the scenes as they were performing the song.

TITA, I guess

This is a bit of a conundrum for me, because while Toys in the Attic is probably the better album, the band made a HUGE mistake by including "Big Ten Inch Record" at the end of side one. There's no way around it: the song is stupid and just filler.

Rocks, on the other hand, is a shorter, much darker and less coherent album, but every song is good and "belongs". With Rocks, one can also see the "beginning of the end" signs, as the band's success and dissipation were starting to catch with them.

Both albums were essential to the band: I can't imagine the late 1970s without either album.

Me I think they're both great albums but I slightly prefer "Toys" because I feel the album has more classic songs and it's also more of a lighthearted album compared to "Rocks", "Rocks" is another great album but you can see the drugs making a huge effect on the band by that time, I even like their "Draw The Line" album although you can tell the band was no longer functioning by that time.

Having never really getting into their music, only casually, that is pretty interesting info about pleasure affecting their work. Makes it enticing to check out their material more. The forbidden fruit complex never fails. Reverse phycology is attractive.
