I saw it. I thought it was good, but not great. I would rate it a 7/10.

it's pretty good, better than any of the sequels i've seen or rob zombie's version imo, though it's a bit all over the place. it lacks a bit of controlled focus & atmosphere. by slasher standards, it's undeniably pretty good, but i can't help but think it pales when you compare it to the way recent horror movies have elevated the genre with genuine atmosphere, tight plotting, better quality of acting than we've seen in the past. perhaps not completely fair to compare a slasher to more atmospheric horror, but we've had a pretty neat little horror renaissance in the past few years, & i think this comes up a bit short in comparison.

also, there is a plot twist in this thing that might be the most ridiculous thing i've seen in a film in years. it didn't really harm the film for me, but it truly came out of nowhere & still makes me laugh a little bit.
