Godewey was a good bowler...

and a GOOD MAN. He was one of US. He was a man who loved the outdoors... and bowling, and as a surfer he explored the beaches of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and... up to... Pismo. He died, like so many young men of his generation, he died before his time. In your wisdom, Lord, you took him, as you took so many bright flowering young men at Khe Sanh, at Langdok, at Hill 364. These young men gave their lives. And so would Dewey. Dewey, who loved bowling. And so, Tim Go Dewey, in accordance with what we think your dying wishes might well have been, we commit your final mortal remains to the bosom of the Pacific Ocean, which you loved so well.
Good night, sweet prince.

I honestly without hesitation feel we’ve lost a friend. We never saw him smile, but we knew he was smiling. We never heard him laugh, but we could feel his laughter through his words. We never got to shake his hand, but he gave all of us a handshake through MovieChat. There’s a void now in MC that no one else can fill. Here’s to ye, Dewey, our witty friend. I’m sending one of my red Solo cups to you filled with all the teary laughter, the choking on our drink laughter, the piss in our pants laughter, which you left behind.🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤One SOLO cup wouldn’t hold it all.....

A Class act all day

I came to MC a proper maniac...i was from other sites where agitation and aggressive insults were the coin of the realm so i supposed the same was true here...
I found the biggest boy i could tangle with and it was our boy, dewey himself, and he was clever, kind and foiled me at every turn!

There wont be another like that fella'

Thank you for contributing on this thread ksppak. I know you dislike me....but I want you to know that I think your words...well they're just perfect! The part about not hearing his laugh...rekt me. Lovely words for a truly lovely soul!

reply

I don’t dislike you...I don’t you personally. But, what comes across with your words....frankly the profanity is how I know you. We all knew Dewey from his words, his genuine soul came through with them. His love of life, his love for his dogs and definitely his love for his girlfriend. He didn’t put on “airs” as we say in the south. What we read was the true Dewey, a human being who did leave a mark of goodness in this wicked world. Reading all the tributes about him attests to this fact. We should all be lucky enough to have such kind words said about us when we depart this earth. But, I thank you for your kind words and I believe they are genuine. I so wish I could have met him personally.

You and me both! His name was Tim. That is all I can impart to any of you on a personal level. I'd like to have known his name...his voice...his face...just not enough time....but I cherish the time we had👍 I'm finding we all do.

Oh no! This is terribly sad news. He was very intelligent and funny, and was one of my favorite posters here on MC.
RIP Godewey, my friend.
