When Is Imagination Better Than Real Life?

I love knowing what people's dreams are, regardless of how unlikely they could be.. Sometimes I think we just want an end result, no matter what! I also think we avoid the negatives, and was curious... the times you think imagining something is better than real life... A relationship for example, or some kind of fame, a certain world, etc, whatever! :)

All of the time...

Example?

Imagination: Driving a golf ball 300 yards straight off the tea into the middle of the fairway at beautiful Augusta Golf Course.

Reality: Shanking the drive into the tee marker where it bounces 30 yards sideways off into the trees at Railway Cuttings Public Golf Course.

That's why I gave up golf a LONG time ago, even though my late Uncle was a teaching pro.

All the time for me too. Every time I'm going on somewhere, on holiday or doing something, I always imagine how it's going to be beforehand and every time it's never as good as I imagined. Don't get me wrong, they are still good (most of the time). Maybe I just have unreasonably high expectations of life but I kind of live in a perpetual state of disappointment. Not to the point where I'm miserable or anything. The benefits of being a serious daydreamer I suppose ☺️

I know what you mean.. You never intend for the things you didn't plan. It's much easier to enjoy it beforehand, while you're imagining all the great stuff. But then again, after backpacking for over 6 months, I'd get burnt out, but then after that length of time back in the US, the thoughts come back.... One of the worst things about traveling is the traveling part!
