just a few suggestions (of course there are many more) -
1) Temps du loup aka Wolfzeit - there's almost no "blood & gore" involved but it's still very unsettling
2) Phase IV - some of the most terrible scenes with ants which I have seen, so far (especially towards the end of the movie there's a horrible scene - I really hope they did this via CGI instead of letting myriads of REAL ants swarm a REAL actor...!)
3) The Believers - very creepy atmosphere all through the movie
4) The Storm - such a powerful movie! And so terribly sad... When you consider that this was based on real events the movie is even more depressing...
5) there's a movie from the 1990s or 2000s where a serial killer follows a very special "pattern" - each victim had to die in a special way so that his death should symbolize one of the Deadly Sins as listed in the Bible - IMHO, that's one of the creepiest movies showing a "serial killer story"... - what was the movie title again?
(By the way - I'm just thinking about a new thread to start, maybe under the headline, "The strangest ways actors got 'killed' in movies"... I remember that when I was a kid, it freaked me out to see how "Dr. Phibes" killed some persons, e.g. when he arranged that one of them, while asleep, got his face covered with honey (or a nother sticky liquid) and then locusts gnawed away the victims face... uuuhh...;-)
