Mark Kermode discusses "Local Hero" with Director Bill Forsyth...

on the film's 25th anniversary in 2008. This is one of my favorite films of all time! It was filmed in the tiny seaside village of Pennan, Scotland. I visited Pennan in 2015, and it had not changed at all! There was even laundry hanging on a line exactly like in the final scene in the film.

I enjoyed some Scotch at the Pennan Inn, but I don't think it was 42 years old!

Shouldn't this be posted on the Local Hero board?

Yeah, if I want to wait a year for a response. The last post there was one year ago. I'm nowhere near that patient.
