Mythology
I like mythological films. I just watched Clash of the Titans 81 and got very into it. I'm not a theist in any way, but stories of gods and ancient people is very interesting.

shareMe too. I also like Christian mythological movies, like Exodus: Gods and Kings and Noah.
I would like to see an epic, fantastical Dante's Inferno movie, akin to the animation one, but live action.
Oh, I'm a Christian so I might be a little biased. Those movies did not fare very well in the box office, but I like them because they're the stories of my childhood.
There are some truth in myths
shareThe Lord of the Rings and even the Hobbit films could be regarded as mythological and even TV shows like Game of Thrones could be included at a stretch as having some mythological themes.
Mythological themed movies, yes. Mythological movies, no, they are not.
It's like historical themed movies vs historical movies. Quite different.
Well I might equally say that you are talking about Biblical or religious movies that although they might have some mythological themes are not mythological movies, strictly speaking...
The ones I originally said on my previous post (Exodus: Gods and Kings and Noah) are mythological movies based on Christian mythologies, not very Biblical even. Surely they are not religious movies.
To be called a mythological movie, a movie should be based on myths. LotR and GoT are not myths.
Christian mythologies are myths. Just like Greco-Roman myths and Scandinavian myths.
I did not really like how very loosely inspired it was by Greek mythology. I think The Storyteller: Greek Myths is a wonderful tv show that stayed pretty close to the material. Unfortunately only 4 episodes!
shareLove mythology. Norse is my bag. 😁
I really liked the movie Troy. Here's a great list:
