I'm not a huge fan of July 4th or any holiday really but I'm extremely happy to be spending it off work and with mr. charliekelly. Gonna head to a family thing this evening, lots of food I'm sure. :D
Today got me thinking about the time my brother burned his hand pretty badly with a sparkler one year. I wonder if he still has a scar or remembers it. He was so young and he didn't even cry from what I remember.
I was in NYC for the the 4th in 1986, when the centennial of the Statue of Liberty was being celebrated. We were at a rooftop party in Brooklyn with an amazing view of the NYC skyline and the fireworks. I don't know if the fireworks are that good every year or if it was a especially big show because of the Statue of Liberty thing, but I've never seen a better fireworks show.
Woo hoo...thewaitress gets a night out with charlie👍👍👍kind of love the fourth cause the wifey usually takes a week or so off and I rather like mod to late summer. Every thing smells better...

I have the BEST story for you, and it's true! We have been married 38 years now. My husband and I use to work at the same newspaper office about 25 years ago. I worked in the mail room and he was one of the men who operated the press.....
One particular 4th of July, we went to the city street dance. We got snockered! We decided to walk over to the Tribune Building. It wasn't too far away from the street dance. My husband had a key to the building. We decided to go up on the roof to watch the fireworks. It looked down on the river where everyone else sat to watch on the banks.
We had one of the best views! It also proved to be EARTH SHAKING!!!
We necked just short of taking our clothes off. Believe me when I tell you that I wanted to make it ALL THE WAY!
My husband stopped! He pointed out the crowd along the River. While people didn't carry cell phones like pistols back then, and aim that camera, we did need to worry about video cameras.
As my husband, the voice of reason pointed out, we may have wound up on the evening news.... or, the front page of our own newspaper!
What a letdown! We had to wait till we got home! Such a shame! I love the danger of being caught.
On the other hand, I wouldn't be too crazy about the whole town knowing!
We took a piece of wood from up on that roof and I wrote down the date. I still have that in my Jewel Box.

I'm not so sure about that. I remember that year when the Statue of Liberty was being celebrated. I have never been there and I have always wanted to see it. I envy you! You had that experience!
We all have our special moments in life....
The Statue of Liberty is on my Bucket List!
I wonder if my husband would join me there... ???? 😉

Oh, she has no idea of what she's missing!
Throw in the element of possibly being caught, and it can be the BEST you have ever had. It can also be one fine memory that you will both cherish with a blush!
Aw! That is a sweet story. The idea of getting caught is such a thrill, isn't it? I can imagine how sexy and arousing that would be. I've fooled around a time or two on a balcony. THAT was a damn good time.

You really don't care for ANY holidays?
I can accept people not caring for Christmas. It can be depressing for many... But give me a break!!!!
You don't care for Halloween????
I like Halloween the most out of any holiday. It was my mothers favorite so thats the main reason I still get excited during that time of year, when I see all the decorations and costumes. Plus candy is always nice. Holidays were just more fun when you were a kid.
