How do you feel about a democratic world government?

It could probably foster world peace but should it be corrupted, we're probably all doomed...so it's a interesting but fragile idea....

reply

I assumed TheMan posted this...
😁

Yes, worldwide democracy sounds good
And i wouldnt worry about corruption
I live in a democracy, we are plenty corrupt yet we seem to be functioning well enough ( not perfectly mind you, but well enough)

reply

Interesting...that makes sense. Why did you assume I was "TheMan"?

reply

TheMan tends to ask questions about matters of law, government, philosophy...when i saw the thread title i figured it was him so i clicked it ( i enjoy the dude so i always look at his stuff )

reply

Oh I see.

reply

Why would you want to concentrate so much power into the hands of so few while most people would say that even local government isn't responsive enough to our needs?

reply

Effective and responsive government will never exist...governments require little worker drones to man positions AND front-men hucksters to sell the plan to the rest of us-
Drones and Hucksters are garbage level humans...

A Democratic Republic with a Bill of Rights is the best we have all managed to come up with...
Google USAπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ pal

I have very few complaints (the taxes are a bit high but the lazy losers need their bread too or will turn to crime i suppose)

reply

Rather than unconcerned about corruption you seem to be advocating it, with globalism as a means to achieve it by stamping out competing forms.

Cool post bro😎

TheMan18 does this stuff way better than anyone...
Dont even try buddy

Amen, Shogie! BTW I'm pleased that you know that the USA is NOT a Democracy, it's a Republic. So few people seem to realize that.

Im a bit astounded at the f'ing morons that dont understand their government...holy shit, isnt that crucial information?!?

Props to you dude!
Thanks

You're welcome and thanks, and I am too. To begin with about 50% of Americans aren't paying attention,
and don't give a crap. They're more interested in what those moronic Kardashians are doing.

😎

reply

Yup...lots of idiots out there and nobody seems to understand the fight anymore
Im well stocked here for when the idiots take over-
Got enough hardware to shame the National Guard
The first 10 idiots through my front door are going to die screaming:)

As far as the Kardashian girls are concerned...i agree they are awful and fake celebrities
But im a huge fan of giant lady booties πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘!
Those young ladies REALLY have great heinies!

My bunker is also well stocked, food, water, medicine, radio, gas masks and heat. As to the K family,
are hooters really the thing which drive this idiotic show?

As a US citizen I am against it. I doubt it would foster world peace as people across the globe will still find ways intentional or unintentional to thwart that goal. The US has tried the concept to some degree with foreign aid and there have been far more failures than successes. In a lot of instances it just was not possible to buy off people for a greater good with foreign aid. Back to the notion of a (one) world democratic government it would have the effect in my mind of lowering the standard of living in the US where I live.

Amen, Al!

I am totally against a globalised democratic world government for three reasons:

1. If it could be brought in it would be the end of individual nations with the free movement of people across the globe.

2. Consequently it would mean the end of Western Civilisation as the developed Western countries would be swamped by immigrants from the under-developed countries. And the end of Western Civilisation would be a catastrophe for the world.

3. Once white people become minorities in what used to be their own countries it would be payback time as people from the under-developed countries (and others) seek to settle the score for past grievances both real and imagined.

Foster World Peace?? HA! Are you really that naive?

It's a VERY bad idea. I don't want some friggin' asshole bureaucrat in Brussels, Belgium making decisions about my life!
Just as some guy in Paris, France would not want some ab in Washington DC telling him what to do. It's bad enough having the friggin' ab's in Washington DC TRYING TO CONTROL EVERY ASPECT OF MY LIFE!

So it is a VERY, VERY BAD idea, and it WOULD NEVER EVER WORK! The nation state is the foundation for harmony and happiness in this world. So FORGET ABOUT IT! Did I mention that it's a BAD idea??

Just messin' with ya. Party on friend.

PS There is no Democracy in this world that I am aware of. The USA is NOT a Democracy. That would be mob rule. The USA is a Representative REPUBLIC. So few people seem to realize that.

Correct, just as people rail against the Electoral College system without understanding that it represents the very same political compromise found in Article I of the Constitution. It's nothing more or less than a means of balancing the interests of proportional representation with the principles of federalism and the co-sovereignty of the states. Without it, there would not have been a "United States of America" in the first place.

reply

Well said, Jack! Now if only more people were aware of that.
