"The Others"

reply

Kwaidan and Ugetsu had that feel to me somewhat.

The Innocents
The Haunting

The Innocents was the first to spring to mind

reply

Such a good movie.
Doesn't help I have this weird fascination with Deborah Kerr.
I may actually love the woman!

reply

Kerr was so regal and sexy. I'll watch her in anything.

reply

I've watched so many of her films over the last year that I hadn't seen before.

She was an undervalued talent and something about her that made you have to take a cold shower!
I really adore her.

reply

At least her genius was on full display in "The Innocents."

reply

She is exquisite

reply

There is something about her.
I don't know what it is yet but it's definitely something.

Just a true lady in every sense of the word.
Pure class.

reply

I agree with "the others",the end of it caught me by surprise

reply

"The Other"'s ending is very effective and manages to deepen the story and not feel gimmicky.

reply

I disagree. I figured out the twist pretty early on and the movie felt rather pointless after that.

reply

Like a good "Twilight Zone" episode whether I saw the twist coming a mile away or not -- and in "The Others" case I did -- I was still invested because the writing, acting and cinematography was good enough to keep me invested.

reply

Yeah, I guess that just wasn't interesting enough to me. A twist movie like The Sixth Sense I can watch again and again, because of the story and the acting, but The Others seemed to rely too heavily on the twist and too obvious red herrings.

reply

I haven't seen "The Sixth Sense" in ages. I was blown away by it -- like most -- when I first saw it.

reply

Sleepy Hollow.

reply

A visually arresting movie and a whole lot of fun.

"The Beguiled" - 1971

A bevy of hot, young of age, & not girls. They're at Clint Eastwood's ministrations & mercy---until the table gets turned.
