Trying to remember a movie

Not long ago I was watching a Western and there is a scene where a recognizable young woman is standing in a wagon. She's wearing slacks I think, and cackling at a suitor like a tomboy. I think she dumps flour on him. I was thinking maybe it was a young Shirley Jones or maybe Donna Reed but I'm not sure. I'm thinking Richard Widmark might have been in the movie, but the more I think about it the more I'm uncertain. But it was a fun scene and the actress looks like she's having a ball.

Could be The Way West ? ⤵️

Sounds like a good movie, but I don't think that's it.
The thing with the woman is whoever she is, she seemed recognizable but out of character, in a good way.
None of the females in TWW are ringing a bell with me, unless it was Sally Field in an unusual role for her.

It's been a while since I seen it but I remembered Field playing a mischievous girl in it. Hope you find what you're looking for 🤞

Two Rode Together.

Widmark and Jimmy Stewart.

Not my favorite Stewart western but still entertaining.
Felt like it couldn't figure out if it was a western with some comedy or a comedy with
some western aspects.
Always worth a watch.

Also had Linda Cristal who was absolutely stunning.

Hey, I think you did it !! I remember seeing the gal in the wagon just a-laughin' and havin' a hoot, and thinking, she looks so familiar. That couldn't really be Shirley Jones, could it?
I think she was brunette too, while I think of her as blonde.
Kudos, godewey. Great catch. I tried looking at her filmography but the title just didn't stand out.

reply

That was her. Although she was blonde in this movie.

After she dumped flour on those two Widmark came over and basically challenged them to a fight.
Funny scene of them going at it and a drunk Jimmy Stewart cheering them on.

Glad I could help.
