Anyone want to entertain me on a strange math matter?

Since I was a kid, I had a form of OCD. I would often count things. My most common thing is when I would count letters with words until they equaled 4. To explain:

"Restaurant" is ten letters.
"Ten" has three letters.
"Three" has five letters.
"Five" has four letters
And there you have it.

Another example:

"Dinosaur" has eight letters.
"Eight" has five letters.
"Five" has four letters.

No matter which word, whether it's short or long, it will ALWAYS equal 4. To this day I still haven't figured out how if this is a math thing, or a fluke that the final numbers "five" and "four" happen to contain that many letters. I'm fluent in French and it didn't occur to me until now to try it in French. The few examples I tried, it's the same thing except the final number is "five"

So confusing

I read it over three times. I was thinking the same thing about value being the same number of letters in its name, but I couldn't wrap my head how mathematically it worked out, like English was also playing a factor.

This is interesting. Spelling and math are a factor.
