Films like ‘The Godfather’ and ‘Gone with the Wind’ are really a waste of time in my opinion because they’re too cookie cutter in their flawless ness. Just goes to show that art isn’t about perfection, which is why I don’t understand why audiences complain about flaws so much.

People point to flaws as if all you have to do is erase them and a movie would be better, I’m simply pointing out that this isn’t necessarily true. Movies are a form of art and by detracting some flaws you could actually make a movie worse. Catch my drift?

3 biggies: "Luca" woulda never have portended he was considering switching sides. And the old man would never even suggest such a ploy to him. It would be an insult & he'd be marked a fool. You get one "Luca" per lifetime. You don't waste him on spec.
"Sonny" as reckless as he was would have never driven away from that compound on spec.
"Michael" would have never been permitted to join the Armed Forces. The old man woulda been way ahead of him.

Okay I somewhat agree with this statement but what about those people who seem too good to be true or are viewed as being flawless human beings.....people like Ellen, Beyoncé, Chris Pratt, Obama? All I’m saying is that it’s tough to weigh flaws with strengths, heck it’s even hard to find flaws if you don’t want to see them. Maybe it’s best to just go with your gut instinct then to just say “well here is a flaw and here is another, but I like this aspect so +1” basically as long as we’re not treating it like some math equation.

What are some of the movies (not cookie cutter, with flaws) that you enjoy?
I love TG and GWTW, but I'm all over the place when it comes to movies. I love the greats and I love what people consider the NOT so great. At times, I even like the PEEEWWWWW! Ed Wood anyone?
And I'm not talking about Tim Burton's movie either, although that was great! No. I'm talking about Plan 9 From Outer Space. Fun stuff!
For example, The first Avengers movie hardly has any flaws but at the same time it’s extremely dull and forgettable. Man of Steel on the other hand has plenty of flaws but it’s almost a masterpiece of a superhero movie compared to the Avengers. Obvious this is subjective but you get my point: counting out the number of flaws in a movie doesn’t necessarily work like a math equation if that makes sense.
shareThanks. I see what you mean now. There are movies I love and I can watch them countless times even though there are plenty of plot holes or certain actions within the story that would make better sense if done differently.
I've never seen the Avengers movie and I doubt I ever will, so I'll take your word that it is dull.
I did love the TV show.
