I want to know your guys's favorite movies, and why they are your favorite.

Le samourai, ghost dog and badlands. I like films about loners. They are more interesting to me than people who are a part of society.

Star Trelk II (Wrath of Khan) - I have watched it so many times and Spock dying still gets me.
One thing I have noticed in the last few years is that I am finding difficult to watch B/W movies which I loved before. I can't think of a reason. I just feel like switching it off. Perhaps, something to do with my eyesight (it isn't bad at all).

Wow. Didn't expect to find that title. Why, RP? I'm just curious, no offense meant.
Because McKenna's Gold (MG) was the first western I ever saw and fell in love with Westerns to this day. I love almost any western except John Wayne's. I just can't stand the guy.
Anyway, as I was a little kid, I just loved all the cowboys & indians stuff in MG. Loved the stereophonic sound which was new to our theatre. Not forgetting, the nude swim of the Indian squaw which made the heart beat too fast.
Coming to present, I have seen MG so many times now that I still find it enjoyable. Yes, now I can see background projection, etc. but it still bring those warm memories of my childhood back (wish I could be that child again).

Even the Wayne materiel. There is a sizable portion of people who feel the same way. Some knock down drag out discussions take place over him. I've read 'em on other boards. Some of it's trolling, sure, but, one can tell who is being genuine. It's fascinating to get that perspective.
ADDENDUM: I remember when it broke. It was indeed a big deal because of the technology you mentioned. And Shariff was being touted big time then. We went as a family. Good memories.

It was really exciting to hear the gunshots ricocheting in stereo. Wow the wonder of it al. Now, there is no sense of wonder anymore. It's like, new technology to do this or that, and the reaction is ok, big deal. We just accept is now.
