Airplane! (1980)

reply

What was the original Airplane movie?

reply

"Zero Hour" '57

reply

I thought it was a parody of the 1970 movie Airport?

reply

No. "Zero Hour" is shot for shot in many instances, just from a melodramatic production.

reply

Oh wow, even the food poisoning and former fighter pilot story... Good point!

I know it was at least influenced strongly by Airport, but it definitely borrowed its main concept from Zero Hour, agreed.

reply

That's right.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)
Flash Gordon (1980) - only because Queen didn't exist in 1936

reply

Flash was a great soundtrack!
Well put

reply

Every movie is 10x better with a Queen soundtrack. Flash... Highlander... Wayne's World ;)

reply

That is correct!!

No rocker dude ever had pipes like Freddy (except maybe Robert Plant in his Zeppelin heyday)
