You'd be amazed how many DVD's I file in the 'S' section at my house and how many of those begin with the word Star..
I know...I do alphabetize the DVD collection! Is that sad?
Necessary if you have a lot, ever been at someone's place and they know they've got a movie but don't know the hell where?
shareYes! You end up sitting there staring at a cold empty screen for half an hour while they frantically search.Then they'll find the box but it's empty or has the wrong disc inside.
I throw the boxes away and keep them in plastic wallets,all neat and tidy.

I had 600 DVDs when I liquidated, meticulously alphabetized, now I have a select few, about 40 or 50 of the finest on hardcopy, almost entirely the criterion collection, almost all blu ray, and I have thousands digitally that fill the hole in my heart after paring down the physical collection. Digital organization is as satisfying to me and then I have only the best on the shelf.
