shareJerry Goldsmith and Henry Mancini are two of my favorites.
I think Goldsmith will become more revered as the decades pass.
I like them both a lot, Goldsmith has a lot of great ones. For Legend 1985, Goldsmith was later brought in to rescore the film after Ridley Scott was dissatisfied with Tangerine Dream's original music. In this case, I like Goldsmith as usual, but I thought it was totally unnecessary, and I prefer the TD score. Both fantastic picks.

I recently burned a 20 track cd containing some of my favorite cuts from movie soundtracks.
It begins with Trevor Jones & Randy Edelman (The Last of the Mohicans - 5 tracks) and ends with Hans Zimmer (The Last Samurai - 2 tracks).
In between is music by Maurice Jarre (Witness), Craig Armstrong (Love Actually), Elmer Bernstein (To Kill a Mockingbird), Deborah Lurie (An Unfinished Life), James Newton Howard (Dave), Marc Shaiman (The Bucket List), Brad Fiedel (The Terminator), Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings), Christopher Young (Murder In the First) and James Horner (Titanic), as well as cuts from three other soundtracks by Hans Zimmer (The Holiday, Regarding Henry & Black Rain).
