90th Oscar for best picture goes to The Shape of Water.

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway presented again, no hiccups this time around - besides cutting someone off from speaking with music.

Should have gone to Dunkirk in my opinion though.

OMG yes Octavia Spencer deserved this (and the white girl too...)

Nice touch with the two old farts. Second chances.

But this was a silly, sick and perverted film. Ah, but it had "diversity"! "Holier-than-thou-wood" simply LOVES diversity. Take away the diversity, and it's just a silly, sick and perverted film about bestiality and cruel and stupid government operatives.

"Three Billboards" was actually a MUCH better film, and should have won the Oscar. "Get Out" was the third best film.

I liked 3 Billboards immensely but I also liked Get Out, Darkest Hour and Dunkirk.

I've got nothing against The Shape of Water but I didn't know that comic book movies were qualified to compete in Best Picture.

reply

I liked those films also, and in that exact order. Shape - a cinematic turd.

Sad to see the shape of Hollywood is so agenda driven, this is the worst film in years to win best picture.

reply

Amen, Rio! The pinheads in "Holier-than-thou-wood" are seemingly more interested in PC and diversity than actual
artistic merit.

I'm not surprised Dunkirk lost out to this... Was the best of last year's movie and will be remembered as such a year from now...

I've heard mostly good things about Shape of Water, but haven't seen it yet

Boooooooooo!
