Hollywood has a part of the blame in the mass shooting incidents
It's only an opinion, but after the violent movies that hollywood promotes,i can't ignore this.

Its primarily society. That is the problem with calls for gun control, because it does nothing for the core issue. A person is not going to not kill someone because he can't get a certain rifle. These types of rifles make up such a small % of murders you won't even see much of a shift if they were banned and criminals decided to obey said law and not get their hands on them.
shareLaws. There will always be black markets, nothing can stop a kid or even an adult to bypass the laws and buy a firearm.
shareI agree. I also think that hyper-violent "first person shooter" video games with increasingly realistic graphics contribute to a desensitization toward violence and its consequences. The trouble with this line of thinking is that those effects are difficult to prove and are not quantifiable. Also, there is not much that can be done about it in a society like America that fiercely opposes censorship.
shareI agree with the violent "first person"video games also, some kids take these too seriously and implement them in real world.
shareCriminologists have studied this extensively since Columbine and they have never found a connection between video games and violent behavior. At this point, its safe to say its just a myth. Look at Japan for example. They have the largest population of "gamers" and they have a very low level of violence in their nation.
shareBecause buying a gun in Japan is REALLY difficult
Here's an article that describes the process of obtaining a gun in Japan: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/behold-the-four-month-process-of-buying-a-gun-in-japan/2017/10/05/72283fea-2375-11e7-b503-9d616bd5a305_story.html?utm_term=.ec493c2f250e
Not saying that violent video games nor Hollywood are the cause of these shootings (it definitely wasn't the cause with the recent shootings)
I'm not talking about gun violence, I'm talking about violence in general. Crime has fallen down to its lowest level in 70 years in Japan. So, if video games did cause people to act violent, don't you think it would manifest itself in some way for the country who play the most video games?

Amen, but few people in America have the guts to say that in fear of the PC Police (or Gestapo).
😎
In Denmark we have very strict weapon legislations.
We've never ever had a school shooting to date. As in *never*.
I wonder if there's a connection?
That's impressive,well done Denmark.
The UK haven't had a mass school shooting since Dunblane in 1996,steps were taken to immediately increase gun control.
I'm sure it's just coincidence though Russell. It must be movies, video games, mental health and the FBI which are to blame...anything but guns.
