What Movie Has Been On Your Netflix List The Longest?

Rams - 2015

It's been on my list forever it seems. I always scroll past it and think "Oh, that movie. I guess I'll watch it someday."

reply

Don't have netflix.

reply

It's available in Romania. Whats the cost per month?

reply

I haven't the foggiest.I use torrent sites for downloading movies and other things.

reply

Another "pirate"๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

Not a movie but Iโ€™ve never seen Mad Men and keep putting it off.

reply

Same here. One of these days I will binge Mad Men.

reply

First couple of seasons is the best TV show I've ever seen... then it becomes a bit average with the occasional great scene...

reply

I take it you have never seen Northern Exposure, the best TV series in history.

reply

I've seen both and while I loved Northern Exposure, IMO it can't touch Mad Men for excellence.

reply

i remmeber it! Great show, but not one I followed...

If you check out Mad Men let me know what you think ๐Ÿ‘

reply

I envy you. Wish I had the experience of seeing Mad Men for the first time ahead of me.

At this point I've probably seen it close to 20 times. Each time, even now, I notice details I didn't notice all of the previous times, and I was a very close observer!

reply

20 times??? Ok, now I'm sold.

I have the same reaction of envy for people who are just starting Game of Thrones and who don't have to wait week after week, season after season for the next piece of the puzzle. I don't start series anymore until they are fully wrapped.

reply

Yep, close to 20 times! It's so detailed, content-rich, and subtle, which is why it's not good binge-watching material. No way could anyone view it once, episode after episode, and be able to pick up on all that.

I started out watching the first 2 episodes when it first aired, didn't like it and bailed. Luckily a friend whose tastes I like told me to give it another chance. SO glad I did!

It totally changed the way I watch TV (film too, to a point) and for me it's the gold standard of superb TV.

You have to pay attention, to everything. No watching while doing something else. Soon I realised I had to turn on the CCs, and then had to watch the encore showing, that played right after the initial showing.

Then I realised even that wasn't enough, and even more viewings were necessary!

I'm one of the few on our planet who hasn't seen GoT, but I hear you on how great it is to see a show that's completed -- or even 3-4 seasons in -- so you don't have to wait a week for each piece of the puzzle. Completed it better though. It's very annoying when a good show gets cancelled and the showrunners don't get the chance to wrap things up properly, or at all!

Sounds like my Breaking Bad story. It took me months to get through the first four episodes or so, then something clicked and I was hooked. Ended up doing an extreme binge, basically watching it around the clock for a couple of days.

reply

That's interesting! I watched the first episode of Breaking Bad, pretty much because it premiered right after a Mad Men season finale. Plus I thought the premise of a mild mannered high school chemistry teacher with terminal cancer, getting involved in making meth in order to secure his family's future was interesting. But then they didn't run with that so I lost interest.

It's funny how some shows require effort before something clicks and the hook is set.

Wow, you watched all the seasons of BB in a couple of days?! Impressive!

reply

That was me this summer. I usually watched an episode a day.

reply

depends on which list you mean..the streaming list I have had movies that i added the second they were available and expired before I could get to them..on DVD I have movies on there from 8 years ago I believe if not longer.
