Plain old steamed rice. The Chinese seem to be the only ones that get it right.
shareSo many good choices but I like a coleslaw but not especially tangy. The local grocery has stuffing in the deli during November and December and I grab that. They had a corn bread and sweat potato variation on that which was quite good. It's supposed to be cold this weekend so maybe I will make some scallop potatoes that will carry into the week. Mom could always get the white sauce just right and now that I have done it I can do it without making a rue(sp?). Heavy on the onions and a white onion does so much better than what the store calls a cooking onion. Potato salad during the summer.

You know they call corn on the cob "corn-on-the-cob", right? But that's how it comes out of the ground, man. They should call that "corn", and they should call every other version "corn-off-the-cob". It's not like if you cut off my arm you would call my arm "Mitch", but then reattach it and call it "Mitch-all-together".
